Photo View: (10-635) SHARPS MODEL 1853 SPORTING CARBINE

Caliber 44. This gun is in 23,XXX serial number range, 21" round bbl, standard 'Sharps Rifle Manufacturing Co. Hartford, CT' markings on top of the bbl, lockplates have the '1852' date stamped on it, brass patchbox in the side. Orig wood is generally VG with an old refinish and a couple of small cracks up on the forearm. Overall metal is decent with a blue brown patina coloration to the bbl as well as the receiver having a more nickelly appearance. Smooth clean little gun in a quite rare configuration.
