Photo View: (12-545) POSSIBLE ESQUIBEL PERCUSSION PISTOL
One of the great Spanish gun makers. Their ‘Running Stag’ brass escutcheon is inlaid atop the breech area. Approximately .58 Caliber. 11” bbl, 17” overall length. Simple engraving on top strap with the numeral ‘2’. The brass furniture motifs have been beautifully designed with a definite romantic influence. Brass has turned a very rich dark patina-quite greenish in areas. The walnut has been tastefully carved as well using vine and floral motifs. Generally VG+ cond with some small bits of wood missing near the brass buttcap. Horn forearm tip, ram rod tip missing. Attractive. Includes photos of disassembled gun as well as research notes from the consignor.
A $ 4,500
