Featuring a 26" 20 Gauge shotgun bbl and a 30" .38-55 Smooth Bore bbl. This is the only set that I know of that is comprised of two different shot cartridge bbls. Overall gun is in exc cond with the 38-55 bbl retaining 98% bright shiny orig blue and an exc bore. The 20 Gauge bbl has a few very minor frecklings from bad storage but still retains almost all the blue with an exc bore. Matching wood on the two forearms and buttstock are in exc cond with a very few light handling mars; complete with correct shotgun style buttplate. Receiver finish is probably about 75% with some flaking and toning on one side but still crisp and sharp with no signs of pits. Guaranteed all orig. 113,XXX serial number range-too high to get a Factory Letter but on close examination by taking it apart, the inside work numbers match on both bbls. ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e

Used as an ammunition testing rifle at the factory. 22 SHORT caliber, 23-1/2" round #1 barrel is hand-stamped "3-19-38." Of course bore has seen a lot of use, but it is still bright. No provisions for a forearm, has marks on stock and metal consistent with being clamped down to a bench. 90% blue on left side of frame, right side is 75% blue with wear marks, barrel has 80% blue with localized wear patterns. Rifle buttplate. Would make an interesting display piece for the low wall or ammo collector. (7004a-14-140) ONE-OF-A-KIND WINCHESTER 1885 ‘INTERNATIONAL MATCH’ HIGH WALL TARGET RIFLE IN EXTREMELY RARE .30-06 RIMMED
(The only known example of this cartridge accompanies this gun). The muzzle end of the 28” #3 round barrel has been uniquely ported. The workmanship has been attributed to the Winchester Factory overseen by A.L. Laudensack who was a Winchester engineer. Laudensack also conceived the idea of an ‘International Match Rifle’. This is the only one of the six made in .30-06 Rimmed Caliber with ported bbl. These features are fully discussed in Volume II of ‘The Winchester Single Shot Rifle’ book. Some of the original features of this rifle have been altered due to individual shooter preferences: a later winder pattern forend and buttstock are now utilized, front barrel band modified to accept a leather cushion between barrel and band, the top cover barrel guard has been removed, the barrel has four extra tap holes for scope mounts. 95% original blue intact on barrel, 90% blue on receiver, VG wood, right rear of forearm near receiver is missing a ¼” x 2-1/2” sliver of wood, double set triggers, unique hammer lock feature prevents cocking unless the interlock button is pressed. Complete with Factory Letter and replacement top bbl cover, excellent bore. Super interesting one-of-a-kind Winchester. e
