(10-50) ONE-OF-A-KIND WINCHESTER 1885 ‘INTERNATIONAL MATCH’ HIGH WALL TARGET RIFLE IN EXTREMELY RARE .30-06 RIMMED
(The only known example of this cartridge accompanies this gun). The muzzle end of the 28” #3 round barrel has been uniquely ported. The workmanship has been attributed to the Winchester Factory overseen by A.L. Laudensack who was a Winchester engineer. Laudensack also conceived the idea of an ‘International Match Rifle’. This is the only one of the six made in .30-06 Rimmed Caliber with ported bbl. These features are fully discussed in Volume II of ‘The Winchester Single Shot Rifle’ book. Some of the original features of this rifle have been altered due to individual shooter preferences: a later winder pattern forend and buttstock are now utilized, front barrel band modified to accept a leather cushion between barrel and band, the top cover barrel guard has been removed, the barrel has four extra tap holes for scope mounts. 95% original blue intact on barrel, 90% blue on receiver, VG wood, right rear of forearm near receiver is missing a ¼” x 2-1/2” sliver of wood, double set triggers, unique hammer lock feature prevents cocking unless the interlock button is pressed. Complete with Factory Letter and replacement top bbl cover, excellent bore. Super interesting one-of-a-kind Winchester. e

(10-117) WINCHESTER HIGH WALL RIFLE IN CALIBER .38-55
Very early gun in the 1,1XX serial number range with the early octagon style frame. #3 30” full octagon barrel, original wood is excellent with most original varnish remaining; rifle style buttplate. Overall metal is excellent with 95% original blue on the barrel, 95% original case colors remaining on the frame-both starting to turn dark showing some age. Still a nice, clean, sharp, little gun. Original 28” #3 full octagon barrel, original sights include a Spirit Level front and a vernier folding tang, excellent bore. Original 3X grade pistol grip checkered Schuetzen style stock is excellent with most original lacquer remaining, helm style buttplate and Dutch pattern cheekpiece. Overall gun is in excellent condition with 98% original barrel blue remaining, 75-80% bright vivid case colors. The Schuetzen rifles with a case colored frame are really quite unusual, they’re generally later guns than that; complete with Factory Letter of Authenticity listing all the features mentioned except that the letter states, ‘no rear sight seat’ and this has got a sight dovetail for a rear sight-probably an oversight or somebody put it in at a later time. If that’s the case, they did a perfect job. ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e

(10-215) WINCHESTER HIGH WALL RIFLE
Made by H.M. Pope-is stamped on top of bbl; marked "Pope" and dated 1/9/21 underneath bbl. .22 Cal is marked on side of the block. Originally a High Wall musket: the forearm has been cut down and the stock has been checkered. Other modifications include scope blocks on top of bbl, Lyman Windage adjustable folding tang and Globe front sight having been added. Side of frame has been modified on right hand side as Pope has been known to have done to make it easier to load & unload cartridges. Forearm has rubber grip area, which I've seen on other Pope rifles-looks like amateur application but I believe this is the way he did these. Mint bore, correct reverse cut Pope style rifling, correct sling swivels. Retains virtually all of the professional refinish. Fine gun. Nice looking High Wall! ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e

(10-320) WINCHESTER MODEL 1885 HIGH WALL IN SCARCE 30-40 KRAG
This gun was sent back to the factory-the barrel was set back into the frame one inch & is marked underneath the forearm as such-I believe it's J.E.B. marking which was special order work done in the factory or something like that. Very fine little gun; all factory original as re-done. Mint bore, now has a 27" full round #3 barrel. Original wood has a few mars/dings but retains 90% original varnish w/rifle style BP. Barrel retains 98% blue; receiver probably 95%+ blue-just a few signs of bad storage-some very light surface blemishes. On the right hand side of the receiver, there's a screw that has been threaded in which is for holding the barrel secure-unusual alteration. e
