5" bbl. Very beautifully engraved in the English style of scroll engraving featuring a game scene on one side of the bbl lug and a serpentines head on the other side. 4” barrel. Unbelievably, this is a one-owner gun bought in 1947 by Sgt. Blowers in Augusta, Georgia; original sales receipt goes with gun. This Colt has been kept in near pristine condition by Sgt. Blowers for 6 decades. 98-99% blue with a couple minor pin pricks of surface rust. Action and bore are excellent, a pair of ‘Franzite’ thumbrest grips have replaced the original Colt grips. 14,XXX serial number range; within 5 or 6 numbers of each other. Condition matches throughout-no doubt they’ve been together their entire existence. Both retain approximately 30-40% original nickel, traces of gold gilt on the hammer. Elaborately engraved in ‘Young’ style with typical floral’s and scroll’s. Original ivory carved relief grips show good age; one has an old repair that is sound, solid and looks good. Mechanical condition is excellent with 40-50% original cylinder scenes, all matching numbers. Fine little pair of guns; round barreled Navy’s are very scarce, especially as a set. e
