(13-562) CHURCHILL WINDSOR SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN IN 28 GAUGE
A nice, light, fast-handling shotgun with 25" bbls. The Churchill is a boxlock, has an antique silver finish receiver with fine scroll engraving, checkered pistol grip stock and forearm. This shotgun has real low mileage with very little use. Near excellent inside and out. The only detraction is a rack mark on the right hand side of the wood; not too bad-maybe could be steamed. (13-530) DOUBLE BBL PERCUSSION MUZZLE LOADING SHOTGUN IN APPROXIMATELY 20 BORE
On one lockplate, it has the word 'Wosmek', the other lockplate is engraved with the name 'Askutsch' whatever that might mean. Looks like most likely a European but it could possibly be an Eastern American gun; it's very old-probably from about the 1840's or 50's. Everything is a very antiquey brownish color; the locks do not work properly-they have some weak springs, triggers do work. The wood is in relatively good cond with a crack here and there, a very old dirty patina to it and of all things it does have a cheekpiece on it. Rather intricate furniture. ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e

(12-583) J. SACKREUTER, FRANKFURT, SIDE BY SIDE 20 GAUGE SHOTGUN
Very nice quality little shotgun with fancy wood and a cheekpiece. This is a hammer double with the crossbolt locking mechanism. Metal is all a silvery coloration, fine damascus pattern, frame and lock work have very ornate and delicate engravings which carries forth to the forearm latch, triggerguard, lower tang and also on the hammers. There are some case colors remaining in protected areas such as under the opening lever. Very nice crisp action and hammers work very well. Bores are bright and shiny with some light pitting toward the chamber end. As stated, the wood is very fancy and in good cond with no cracks or losses on the buttplate; forearm also very nice with a couple of dings and a very slight sliver missing where it meets the bbl. (12-513) VERY INTERESTING GERMAN COMBINATION PERCUSSION RIFLE/SHOTGUN
58 Caliber rifle barrel and 20 Gauge shotgun barrel. Early manufacture probably dating back to about 1800. I believe this was originally started as a flintlock but before manufacture was completed, they utilized a percussion style ignition system because the safety device is utilizing the flint frizzen springs which come into play in front of the hammers when they are at full cock. Fine little gun marked ‘I. Eitel’ on one lockplate; ‘A. Weilburg’ on the other. Superb condition with most all the original browning on the barrel, case colors on the lock have turned a little molten; superb wood featuring both incised and raised carving in a floral pattern done in the best manner.
