In 24 Gauge by 24 Gauge by 40 Caliber Rifle. This gun has 26-1/2" bbls with a dolls head extension, matted flat rib and a folding rear sight. Borders are delicately engraved as are the back ends of the bbls. Orig wood shows some wear to the checkering but generally VG cond with most orig varnish remaining; theres a small chip out of the toe of the butt which could be easily repaired. Very attractive gun with most all orig bbl blue intact, receiver retains 50-60% bright case colors. Bores are generally VG to near excellent with one small dent in the left bbl. Delicate little gun only weighing 6-1/2 lbs. e

.65 Caliber. 28" Damascus bbls, top rib is inlaid with gold 'WJ IN ISCHL', rear of breech area has double gold lines, decorative gold motifs also inlaid atop breech and on the upper tang, German silver escutcheon also inlaid in upper tang with 'CS' under a crown. The remainder of the top tang, hammers, sideplates and locks are deep relief engraved with intricate scroll work: scenes of three deer and a pair of dogs with a trapped wolf; the patchbox in the stock is also deep relief engraved with a hunter and rifle framed with inlaid gold line. Their long barrel general issue 91/30”s were found to be unsuitable for close quarter fighting such as in Stalingrad where there was plenty of house to house fighting. Similar to their M-38, the new variation M-44 was ideal with its 20" bbl and ingenious side folding bayonet. Arsenal refinished, VG overall condition; some flaking of stain and varnish on wood. The M-91/30 was an improved version of their 1891 infantry rifle and went into service in 1930. It is extremely rugged, durable and simple-intended to be instantly usable by illiterate and unskilled troops. The 91/30 was the main battle rifle during WWII and used for many years after by many satellite communist countries. The sniper version of this gun was made famous by the movie "Enemy At The Gates" In apparently unissued condition after arsenal refurbish. Great shape. The back part of the barrel has been engraved as well going up about an inch or so onto the flats. Receiver is elaborately engraved in Nimschke’s usual floral patterns with the name ‘James Barbour’ in a ribbon on the side. Beautifully done-excellent inside and out. Overall metal is VG but could use a little cleaning; it’s got some very light surface rust that would clean off-still retains 90% bright blue; a considerable amount of vivid case colors remain on the lever and double set triggers. Gun works fine-we’ve been shooting it and it’s pretty accurate. e
