(10-476) CONSECUTIVE SERIAL NUMBER THREE GUN SET OF COLT LIGHTNING SADDLERING CARBINES
32 Caliber. All are in the same configuration, all have British proof marks and 'R.B. Rodda & Co. London & Calcutta'. These Colts are in the 57,XXX serial range. Gun #1: Very nice receiver blue with a little flaking and a few scratches. Thinning and turning bbl blue, VG bore, nice wood. Gun #2: This gun has nice bbl blue and a VG bore but appears like the receiver has been refinished a long time ago. Orig forearm wood and extra figure replacement buttstock. Gun #3: 95-98% bright shiny Colt blue on receiver, nice bbl blue which is thinning toward the muzzle. Exc bore, good case colors on hammer, great wood. This one is a dandy! With Imperial German proof marks; This gun is 1 of 6 that was used by the Kaiser's Home Guards. Others markings indicate the regiment and the soldier it was issued to. 95% bbl blue, mag tube about the same with slight toning. Receiver also has quite a lot of blue with some brown starting to come through. Wood very near excellent. Great little baby! Factory Letter. e

With 25-1/2" oct bbl. Receiver has been cleaned and is mostly a grayish color, Rampant Colt is visible but a little faint, nice sharp octagons on the bbl, also good bbl markings, bore is in good cond, buttstock is quite nice with the normal dings, scrapes, etc. Forearm is also nice and of course, has the normal crack but no missing wood. Bolt does not lock up properly. A hard to find gun in presentable condition. e

Full octagon barrel, full length magazine, VG++ bore, metal is a dark plum gray patina coloration and is basically smooth and clean with some light pin prick pitting on the left side of the frame and lever. The Rampant Colt is visible. Original sights, generally VG wood with the usual crack on right side forearm, buttstock appears to have had decorative tacks long ago, have since been removed and the stock lightly cleaned; light varnish added-looks good. Rifle style trapdoor buttplate, good mechanically, missing extractor. Hard to find. e

Overall metal is generally a plummish blue patina coloration, excellent traces of vivid blue in protected areas. Original sights, fine walnut, receiver is marked 'W.F. & Co.'. Correct full round 27" barrel with lug for a bayonet, original sights, fine bore. Original carbine musket style stock is in VG condition with a considerable amount of the usual minor small dents that muskets have from dings in the rack. Overall metal is smooth, clean and has turned a plum brown patina coloration with traces of blue in the protected areas. All original; complete with Factory Letter of Authenticity. Only a couple dozen of these muskets have shown up-most of them were shipped out of the country and have not returned. Scarce gun to find in any condition.
