(10-361) EXCEPTIONALLY FINE WINCHESTER MODEL 21 DOUBLE RIFLE
Caliber 45-70. Engraved in Grand American style with four big game animals gold inlaid in the receiver; a moose on one side, an elk on one, a big horn sheep on the bottom and grizzly bears inlaid in gold on the trigger guard. The entire receiver is heavily and extensively engraved by Nick Kusmit; this is one of the last guns he did before he left Winchester. The stock is checkered and carved; carving extends half the length of the buttstock and 3/4 of the length of the forearm-very beautifully and tastefully done. Overall gun is in as new cond fitted in an orig Winchester luggage case. Completely made in the Winchester plant custom department and was assembled by Tony Kalazan of a Connecticut shotgun manufacturing company when it was completed. One of the finest Winchester Model 21's ever made; just a handful of these were made in 45-70. e

(9-529) VERY RARE WINCHESTER HOTCHKISS CUT-AWAY 2ND MODEL SPORTING RIFLE
This cut-away rifle was part of a collection of personally assembled and owned guns by the late 'Lieutenant George B. Aldee'. He was a very colorful individual-a highly decorated Civil War officer. Later on, he worked for Winchester as a sales representative. He was quite instrumental in the development of the Hotchkiss rifle. He won the 1882 Creedmore rifle matches. This gun is very well documented with numerous letters; some of them coming from individuals such as Bennett, the Vice President of Winchester, in regards to his shooting at Creedmore. Overall gun is in near excellent condition with 75-80% original nickel which is flaking and turning a very mellow patina coloration. Original semi-deluxe stock is excellent retaining most original varnish, original sights, fine bore. Very interesting gun; guaranteed 100% all original and complete with Factory Letter of Authenticity from the Buffalo Bill Historical Society listing it as a nickeled sporting rifle, "sectionalized" which would mean that it's a cut-away rifle. Quite unique, especially with the extensive paperwork and documents that accompany it. ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e

(9-410) WINCHESTER MODEL 70 PROTOTYPE BULL ACTION RIFLE IN CALIBER 243
Interesting gun built on an action that resembles a cross between a post-64 Model 70 and a FM Mauser without the claw extractor. 22" round barrel, ramp front sight, flip up Winchester rear sight, thumb safety is slotted into the rear of the receiver. Gun also features a quite unusual detachable clip which removes by pressing a lever at the front of the floor plate; has an alloy triggerguard, Winchester sling swivels and straight grain walnut uncheckered Monte Carlo stock without a cheek piece; hardrubber buttplate. This appears to be an attempt by Winchester to manufacture a low cost Model 70 style gun with a detachable clip. Only 4 or 5 of these were made but never went into manufacturing of them. The only markings on the gun are 'Cal 243' on the barrel; receiver is marked 'EXP' for experimental and '3', and Winchester factory proofs on the barrel & receiver. Letters of Authenticity from Winchester. e
